SH2-308: The Dolphin-Head Nebula

Explanation: Blown by fast winds from a hot, massive star, this cosmic bubble is huge. Cataloged as Sharpless 2-308 it lies some 5,000 light-years away toward the constellation of the Big Dog (Canis Major) and covers slightly more of the sky than a Full Moon. That corresponds to a diameter of 60 light-years at its estimated distance. The massive star that created the bubble, a Wolf-Rayet star, is the bright one near the center of the nebula. Wolf-Rayet stars have over 20 times the mass of the Sun and are thought to be in a brief, pre-supernova phase of massive star evolution. Fast winds from this Wolf-Rayet star create the bubble-shaped nebula as they sweep up slower moving material from an earlier phase of evolution. The windblown nebula has an age of about 70,000 years. Relatively faint emission captured by narrowband filters in the deep image is dominated by the glow of ionized oxygen atoms mapped to a blue hue. Presenting a mostly harmless outline, SH2-308 is also known as The Dolphin-head Nebula.

To me the represents the Sun God from Ancient Egypt RA ( also know as From Wikipedia List of Solar Deities) and the Moon Goddess Luna (also known as  From Wikipedia List of Lunar Deities)

Fall has definitely started here in Illinois. I checked the temperature to know how to dress to take our 3 fur kids out. The Weather Channel app on my cellphone says it’s 51⁰F but feels like 46⁰F. I’m going to need more the my thin hoodie this morning which is fine with me. I like the cooler temperatures, watching the last flowers of the year bloom, farmers gathering their crops, leaves changing and falling as Gaia/Mother Earth gets ready for her winter slumber. There’s nothing in nature that I like more than a good snowstorm preferably when all my loves ones are home safe and sound. To me one of the best things in my life is to curl up on our enclosed front porch in my warm winter fleece shirt and pants and wrapped in a comforter with my cup of 1/2 coffee, 1/2 hot chocolate and just let my mind go wherever it wants too. In the summer I like to sit outside on the front stoop with either a cold soda or water or iced coffee early in the morning as light eats away at the darkness or as the darkness eats away at the light. This year because of moving to farm country I got to enjoy a still small fawn come with its mother watching over it to nibble on the grass or the older bucks and does coming to graze along the tree line on the hill. Listening to the sounds of frogs and other wildlife that enjoy living in a swampy environment. Seeing a Fox looking for food. Again I let my mind go wherever it wants too. I did not realize for a long time that when I sit outside at dusk and dawn when it is warmer or inside all toasty warm when it is cooler that this is a form of meditation. For some people that cannot quite their thinking to do what most people refer to as meditation this is a good alternative. I have found this type of random letting my mind ramble that I am able to communicate with and get answers to questions I have asked my Spirit Guides sometimes months ago. It is also a time for me to reflect on how I might change things about myself or decide what I want to accomplish during the day. Another reason I like winter is most of the things that bother my allergies go dormant for a few months. The biggest negative for me with the change of the seasons is the temperature fluctuation bring about bad fibromyalgia flares and my joints hurt more but this is all part of my body dealing with getting older and helping me to remember I am it is not a child anymore. Although I love letting my inner child come out for a while every day through coloring, our writing a silly story, or doing arts and crafts, while watching cartoons and still getting a good laugh out of most of them. SHHHH… don’t tell on me but this winter I plan on getting my fiancée, Big Dawg (he got the name when he did canine law enforcement training in his younger years…shoulder shrug) into a snowball fight as this man really needs to find his inner child. He is a warm, loving, and consider man but really needs to lighten up a bit. Remember this info is just between us. He doesn’t even like to give out anything to child for trick or treating…yes this year that is changing and I am giving out cute Halloween themed pencils. No candy as there are a few people every year that have to many negative nasties around them and/or to much negative energy inside of them and the aura that try to hurt children by putting needles, pins, pieces of not edible things into candy or whatever kind of edible they are passing out to unsuspecting children. Ok here I’m going to gray magic but I would love to have just one of the people to forget that they have poisoned the candy they are handing out and eat one themselves. This is the one Shabbat that I do a Justice spell, I wrote a few years ago, not aimed at one specific person but at humanity as a whole through out the USA. What the intention of the spell is that the person get equal negative energy or negative whatever they have put out towards another person or persons. That they mean or bad person gets no more but no less than they put out or did to someone else. That spell will be going up today on witchesofthecraft.com What is your favorite season and why? Do you remember to embrace your inner child? If you do not please try it, it make living life as an adult so much more fun. If you allow your inner child out, how do you do it? I am really looking for more ways to let mine out. I am anxiously awaiting the first wet snow to fall to make a snowman and snow angels. A tidbit about my sister Lady Silver Sage likes the season of Fall or Autumn the best out of the four.
