A Lady Pumpkin Life Lesson

Lady Pumpkin, my little dog-daughter-Poodle, has a way of teaching without speaking. She doesn’t lecture, she doesn’t analyze, and she certainly doesn’t overthink. She simply does, and in the doing, she reveals something worth noticing.

Today’s lesson arrived during our morning walk through our little German countryside village – nothing dramatic or unusual. The air was cool and breezy, the path was beautiful, and Pumpkin trotted ahead with her light, confident steps, her little greeting-flag tail raised high. She paused at a patch of grass, sniffed, considered, and then chose a different direction entirely. No hesitation and no internal debate. Just a clear, quiet decision.

It struck me how often witches forget this kind of simplicity. We tune ourselves to energy, timing, intention, and symbolism, but sometimes the most magickal act is choosing a direction without spiraling into ten possible outcomes. Pumpkin didn’t need a sign. She didn’t need permission. She didn’t need to justify her choice. She trusted her senses and moved.

There’s a steadiness in that…an instinctive alignment with the moment. She doesn’t rush. She doesn’t drag her paws either. She simply responds to what’s in front of her.I realized how much magick lives in that kind of clarity.

A witch’s life is full of crossroads, both literal and symbolic. We stand there, analyzing every path, every potential ripple, every consequence. But sometimes the right choice is the one that feels quietly correct. Not in your face or dramatic…but just true.

Pumpkin reminded me that intuition isn’t always a lightning strike. Sometimes it’s a soft nudge, a subtle shift, or a gentle pull toward the path that feels comfortable underfoot.

So today’s lesson is simple:

Trust the small signals. Trust the quiet knowing. Trust the direction your spirit naturally leans toward.

Lady Pumpkin does it every day. And she never ends up on the wrong path.

Bright Magickal Blessings,

Lady Pumpkin & Lady Victoria Silver Sage
